El Nido is one of the popular destinations in the island of Palawan, Philippines. This was one of the non commercialised and unexplored places and is gaining popularity. This small costal town houses beautiful islands, white sand beaches and lagoons. El Nido is located on the top north of Palawan.

How to get to El Nido :

Let’s begin with the map, shall we ? El- Nido is located on the northern part of Palawan – marked in the map below. 

Tourists arrive here either from Manila, Coron or from Puerto Princessa down south.

If you are arriving from Manila, Clark or other places from main island:

Option A: Fly to Puerto Princess and then take a van or bus to El-Nido

Option B: Fly directly to El-Nido airport. However flights operating here are very limited and you may need to book them way in advance if you happen to travel during peak seasons.More about this below.

Option A: Flying to Puerto Princessa and then taking a van or bus.

Many flights connect to Puerto Princessa daily from Manila,Clark, Cebu or other domestic airports. Once you land here, you may find various van up for grabs to take you to ElNido. Vans group tourists together. The journey from PP to Elnido is close to 5 to 6 hours ride and sometimes can be bit tiring.

Other option is to hop onto to a bus for El-Nido. The buses are limited but is very comforting to ride as compared to van. We folks ended up hopping on the van to El-Nido , however opted for the bus on pour return journey. Cherry bus is quite popular and ply from PP to Elnido every two hours starting at 9:00AM until 9:00 PM. You can book the cherry buses here.

Option B: Flying to El Nido airport: Air Swift flies to El- Nido via Manila, Cebu, Caticlan, Clark, Coron and lately from Puerto Princessa. Air swift is a boutique airline and have fixed number of flights. You can find their schedule here.

If you are arriving from Cebu or nearby island:

Nearby islands have ferries to El-Nido however sometimes they can tend to be very long journeys and is not for the sea sicks amongst us. Coron to El-nido is an 8 hour journey via the sea. You can find booths or agents near the ports or even speak to your hotel staff to help you connect with the staff to book a ride.
